Parking by Jeeps

So, there's this unwritten rule for Jeepers  (Wranglers specifically) that says when you enter a parking lot, you must:

1. First look for other Jeep Wranglers
2. Park next to the biggest cluster of them that exists
3. If not possible, park next to any Jeep Wrangler
4. If not possible, park next to any Jeep, preferably one prepared for off-roading
5. If not possible, park as you otherwise would in a traditional car

Initially, I was going to make this a slug theme for posts on the blog, but living in Colorado, parking by Jeep Wranglers is almost always possible. So, in lieu of numerous posts, I made a dedicated page toward these ends.

The First Mod

Jeepers know all about mods. From CB's to lifts, winches, and everything in between, but as we all know, mods means $$$! Heck, the old saying goes that JEEP stands for:

Just
Empty
Every
Pocket

So, my first mod was a bit on the cheap. I pulled up the rear factory carpet, added a piece of foam insulation, then laid the factory carpet back down, and finally added a regular carpet scrap in for the dogs to lay on when cruising around. This way they don't get overheated from sitting in the tub:

The dogs seem to like the new, cooler rear area:

It Arrived

 My dad announced two years ago that he was going to get rid of his Jeep when he retired full time to SC. At the time I was borrowing it for the winter in snowy Cleveland. Since then, I've moved back to Colorado, the folks put the house in NY up for sale, sold in, and we made arrangements to ship the jeep here.

It finally arrived today, so here are the first pics (of many to come), of my new love, the TJ Wrangler X with a mere 30K miles on it!

There some definite work to be done, taking this from stock to off-road ready, but I am excited even at the idea of using the "new" Jeep as my daily driver.
